The JAC range of vehicles has shown impressive performance at the on-going four months test-run in Nigeria, preparatory to the commercial launch by Elizade Motors. The vehicles have already completed three months endurance test on Nigerian roads with impressive results.
Elizade Motors, three months ago, commissioned a test-run of the JAC range of vehicles which include ten passenger cars and eight trucks to determine their capabilities to adapt to the Nigerian road conditions before full introduction into the market.
Reports gathered so far revealed that the vehicles have exceeded all expectations in terms of durability, fuel efficiency, ruggedness, cost of maintenance and overall performance.
Elizade Motors, which has unrivalled pedigree in automobile dealership in Nigeria, at the inception of the test-run, handed the vehicles to some notable companies in Nigeria for their operations across the country. The participating companies include Evans Medical Plc, Nestle Nigeria Plc, Cybele Cosmetics Ltd, Lagos Taxi Drivers Union and Jubali Bros. Nig. Ltd.
Others are Nigalex Nig. Aluminum Extrusions Ltd., Syndicated Metal Industries Ltd., and an individual, Mr. Temidayo Olugbemi.

Meanwhile, in assessing the progress of the test-run so far, the participating companies who are currently using the vehicles were invited for a brief chat with the motoring press recently to share firsthand information about their experiences with the JAC vehicles. The objective(s) of the participants-media parley according to Elizade was to find out specific tasks/uses the vehicles have been subjected to so far, as well as rate the vehicles’ performance on key variables such as fuel economy, frequency of breakdowns, internal and external designs, quality of engine, suspension system, etc.
In attendance were Mr. Oloyede Obagbuwa, the JAC coordinator, Mr. Ademola Omotosho of the Technical Department at Elizade Nigeria Limited, members of participating companies. The drivers from the participating companies generally commended the performance of the vehicles, stating that the cars and trucks have proven satisfactory so far. According to Mr. Frank Odeh of Cybele Cosmetics whose company was given a J3, J5 both passenger cars and a truck, “the vehicles are good for the Nigerian roads. We have used them to travel long distances and so far they have performed beyond expectations”.
Mr. Temidayo Olugbemi of God So Good Driving School, Ibadan also had positive things to say about the JAC brand. He stated thus: “We have driven the JAC J5 to travel long distances from Ibadan to Abuja and even Ado-Ekiti. Other than the fact that the ground clearance of the car is rather low, we’re okay with the performance of the vehicle.” Mr. Olugbemi further said that he has been receiving enquiries from people who wanted to buy the cars, adding that he would gladly recommend the vehicles to his friends.
