Speaking shortly before the test-drive, Jatin Nadkarni, head, sales and marketing, SsangYong Motors Nigeria, described SsangYong as one of the products of acquisition partnership with Daimler-Benz.
He said SsangYong had in the quest for outstanding engineering prowess brokered a quick-witted partnership with Daimler-Benz to use Mercedes Benz know-how and so would definitely reflect some Mercedes DNA in its engineering and design.

Personally, I feel one should be a bit careful when choosing to buy unpopular vehicles like these in Nigeria. Yes, they might have a partnership with Diamler-Benz and perhaps might feature some of Mercedes Benz technology in their design but still, I don’t think the Nigerian market has maintenance stocks for these Asian new bees. Its better to stick to the old faithfuls.
